What does treatment involve?

Depending on the choice of treatment, a reflexology session may last between 60 and 90 minutes. At the first appointment, details about health, diet & lifestyle and medication will be taken.

After removing footwear, you will be made comfortable on the couch with pillows and towels as required. The feet will be worked on one at a time and sometimes both at the same time, with appropriate pressure applied to all the reflex points. Some tender spots may be experienced, but this is normal. Sensitivity varies from one person to another and should not be uncomfortable even for very sensitive feet. It is certainly not ticklish!

How will I feel after treatment?

Generally you should feel relaxed after reflexology treatment with a glowing sensation in your feet. Some people may experience a mild headache and feel tired while others may feel energised. These are normal responses and are believed to be part of the body's healing process. Drinking plenty of water and resting are important after treatment.

At least three sessions at 2-4 weekly intervals are recommended to appreciate the benefits, although a one-off occasional session can be a great relaxing treat.
